This site is an ongoing project of the Humanities Text Initiative and University of Michigan to assemble an electronic archive of volumes of American poetry. The archive consists mostly of 19th century poetry with a few 18th century and early 20th century texts. Major poets such as Poe, Dickinson, Sandburg, & Longfellow are covered as well as a number of African American and women poets.
EPC links to electronic poetry magazines, authors' pages, poetry presses, a poetry Web guide, visual poetry files, and poetry conference information. The site is housed at the University of Buffalo with content provided by the faculty and librarians at SUNY.
Created in 1999 by UK poet laureate Andrew Motion, this site offers recordings by hundreds of poets reading their work. It includes educational resources for teachers and students, a separate archive of children's poetry, and the ability to browse for poems by theme or poetic form.
