  • American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS)
    The Web site for one of the largest associations for professionals responsible for security, including managers and directors of security. ASIS publishes Security Management, the premier magazine in the field. (Print and electronic copies are available from the library.) The ASIS Web site also provides useful links to other Web sites and important documents.
  • The Biometric Consortium
    "Serves as a focal point for research, development, testing, evaluation, and application of biometric-based personal identification/verification technology."
  • International Institute of Security and Safety Management
    The IISSM supports professionalism among individual and private security agencies and raises security awareness amongst non-security management personnel.

Information security

  • Information Security Magazine
    This online magazine provides access to security news, insight and analysis. The site includes a library of white papers on security issues and job listings for information security professionals.
  • The SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network, Security) Institute
    SANS was established in 1989 as a cooperative research and education organization for information security. SANS Free Security Resources links to many online resources including the Internet Storm Center, several newsletters, the Glossary of Security Terms and to the Reading Room which features over 1600 white papers in 70 categories.
