About the MoPTA

Missouri Pre-Service Teacher Assessment (MoPTA)

According to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the MoPTA is an assessment taken during your apprentice teaching to assess your instructional capabilities before receiving your license. The MoPTA is required for candidates seeking teaching certification in the State of Missouri.  The MoPTA homepage explains:

"The assessment contains four tasks requiring written commentary and submission of required documentation, called artifacts. Task 1 is formative in nature. Tasks 2, 3, and 4 are summative." Please note that all Webster University School of Education Students complete the Non Video option for Task 4.

Your Apprentice Teaching Supervisor will guide you through the process of
collecting and submitting these items.
