Webster University Library's curriculum collection houses materials for teacher education, children's books and more.

Henrietta Maizner Hochschild Collection

The Hochschild Collection contains more than 3,000 books of children's literature published between 1860 and 1970. Materials from the collection are listed in the library catalog. The collection is located at the Webster University Library.

Henrietta Hochschild lived in St. Louis her entire life. She earned a B.A. degree from Washington University in 1939 and a M.A.T. degree from Webster University in 1973. Her career included editing and publishing teaching kits for educators, volunteering in the original Reading is Fundamental project, and creating the learning center at Harris Teachers College, now Harris-Stowe State University. Henrietta Hochschild died February 4, 2000.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Henrietta and her husband Peter donated much of her collection to Washington University and Webster University. For more information, contact:
