Find a specific legal statute in the Westlaw database

Statutes may also be called "code."

  1. Log in to the Westlaw database.
  2. Type your search terms in the large box at the top of the screen. You may search by the name of the act or its public law number. For example, let's search for the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

3. Do the search and on your results page, look on the right half of the page in the Statutes & Court Rules section for the item marked United States Code Annotated.
